What is renewable energy?

  • Renewable energy
    Renewable energy is energy which can be obtained from natural resources that can be constantly replenished.
    Renewable energy comes from sources such as the sun, wind, wave, hydro, geothermal and organic matter. Generating energy from these sources produces minimal overall greenhouse gas emissions and reduces other impacts on the environment.
  • Sources of renewable energy
    Renewable energy technologies include technologies that use—or enable the use of—one or more renewable energy sources. Types of renewable energy technologies include:

    geothermal energy
    ocean energy
    solar energy
    wind energy
